Verovatno bih bio impresioniran pojavom župana Domžala i da nisam bio na Play the game konferenciji.   Međutim, sada sam definitivno zatačen. Sve ono što sam slušao tri dana na konferenciji o neodrživosti, korupciji, konfliktu interesa i mafiji u sportu, srušilo se kao kula od karata na jednostavnom takmičenju u lednom penjanju na Evropskom kupu u Domžalama. Iskreno rečeno prva stvar koja nas je iznenadila je samo prisustvo gradonačelnika na takvom događaju. Više od decenije podržavamo takmičenja u lednom penjanju i još  nismo imali prilike da nas gradonačelnik udostoji svojim prisustvom. Ako dodamo da nije bilo VIP lože, da smo zajedno delili klupu na blatnjavih minus 5 C, onda ostaje samo žal što se nismo upoznali i imali prilike da se rukujemo. To naravno nije sve župan Dragar je ostao do kraja i podelio medalje. A suština svega je objekat koji je izgradila opština Domžale, tačnije veštačka stena koja svojim tehničkim i konstrkcionim karakteristikama treba da posluži i za trening lednih penjača, a ne samo sportskog penjanja. Za one koji manje prate problematiku sportskih objekata mogu samo da kažem da se u većini slučajeva takav objekat razmontira nakon takmičenja i nema pravu upotrebnu vrednost. Međutim, ovaj u Domžalama će ostati na radost penjača i svih građana Domžala koji žele da se oprobaju u penjanju. I to dolazimo do suštine, gradonačelnik i opština Domžale su izdvojile novac sa održiv projekat, napravili su novi sportski objekat i dali ga zajednici na korišćenje, bez razbacivanja para. Organizovali su Evrospki kup u lednom penjanju, ali ne tako da je sve urađeno zbog kupa već obrnuto, kup je smo posledica novo izgrađenog sportskog objekta. I konačno, gradonačelnik nije s prezrenjem ostao kod kuće, već je navijao tokom celog takmičenja i ostao do kraja na hladnoći. Bilo bi divno da svaki grad ima takvog gradonačelnika.

I would probably be impressed by the appearance of the mayor of Domzale, even I was not at the Play the game conference. However, now I am definitely caught. All that I listened to for three days at the conference about sustainability, corruption, conflict of interest and mafia in sports, collapsed as a tower of cards at a simple competition of Ice climbing at the European Cup in Domzale. To be honest, the first thing that surprised us was the presence of the mayor at such an event. For more than a decade, we have been supporting Ice climbing competitions and we have not yet had a chance that the mayor enjoyed our presence. If we add that there was not a VIP lodge, that we shared the bench on the muddy minus 5 C, then it remains only sad that we did not meet officially and had the opportunity to shake his hand. Of course, that was not all, the Mayor Dragar stayed until the end and delivered medals. And the essence of all is the building that was built by the municipality of Domzale, an artificial rock which, with its technical and constructional characteristics, should also serve for the training of ice climbers, not just sports climbing. For those who are less attached to the problem of sports facilities, I can only say that in most cases such a facility is disassembled after the competition and has no real use value. However, this in Domzale will remain for the joy of climbers and all citizens of Domzale who want to try the climb. And this comes to the essence, the mayor and municipalities of Domzale have invested money to a sustainable project, have created a new sports facility and gave it to the community for use, without throwing the money. They organized the European Cup in ice climbing, but they did not do everything because of the cup, but the cup was the result of a newly built sports facility. Finally, the mayor did not stay home with contempt, he was cheering during the whole competition and stayed until the end in cold environment. It would be great if every city had such a mayor.
