Marco Savarese (1997) –  Potential partner

Marco is a waiter at the oldest restaurant in Sorrento, O’Parrucchiano La Favorita,  which has a tradition of almost two centuries (founded in 1868). At the age of 27, he already had 13 years of experience in the restaurant, at first as an assistant with the support of his father, and later after he finished tourism school as a waiter. He likes to talk and speaks English well, although he says the teacher objected to his learning. Obviously, learning through practice becomes more important, and Marko knows how to talk to guests.

That’s how we find out that his mom is a maid, and his girlfriend works in a travel agency. My usual question is, why not start his own business? Somehow logically, the whole family is already in it. He says one hundred thousand euros he needed. And here is the idea to become partners. Instead of Maria buying a house for a dollar in Italy to invest in a business with Marco in Sorrento. If nothing else, at least let it remain as a reminder that we had a good idea

We had a great time, had lunch under the lemons, and tried carpaccio of lampuga, calamari, and octopus marinated in lemons and Mark’s favorite tomato sauce with squid. We had a tomato salad with red onion and cheese. In Sorrento, they made the salad with mozzarella, and we promised Marko shopska salad with grated white cheese if he came to Belgrade. But not before April because, like Sorrento lemons, he would not survive the Belgrade winter.

Marko je kelner u najstarijem restoranu u Sorentu O’Parrucchiano La Favorita koji ima tradiciju skoro dva veka (osnovan 1868). Sa svojih 27 godina već ima 13 godina staza u restoranu. U početku kao pomoćnik uz podršku oca, a kasnije po završetku turističke skole kao kelner. Voli da priča i dobro govori Engleski, iako kaže da je nastavnica imala primedbu na njegovo učenje. Očigledno učenje kroz praksu postaje značajnije, a Marko ume da se ispriča sa gostima.

Tako saznajemo da mu je mama sobarica, a devojka radi u turističkoj agenciji. Moje uobičajeno putanje je pa zašto onda ne pokrene sopstveni biznis. Nekako logično cela porodica je već u tome. Kaže potrebno je sto hiljada evra. I eto ideje da postanemo partneri. Umesto da Marija kupi kuću za dolar u Italiji da uloži u biznis sa Markom u Sorentu. Ako ništa onda bar neka ostane kao podsetnik  da smo imali dobru ideju.

Divno smo se zabavili, ručali pod limunovima i probali karpaćo od lampuge, kalamra i hobotnice marinirane u limunovima i omiljen Markov paradajz sos sa lignjama. Izgleda da nam je zajednička salata od paradajza sa ćipolom i sirom. U Sorentu je salta naravnao sa mocarelom, a kod nas smo obećali Marku sa šopsku sa rendanim belim sirom, ako dođe u Beograd.  Ali, nikako pre aprila, jer kao ni Sorentiski limunovi ne bi izdržao Beogradsku zimu.
