Italy is probably the EU country most exposed to migrants.  Maybe even more than Greece because most want to get to one of the more prosperous EU members. That’s probably why many immigrants stay in Italy and try to make a living there. Italy’s petition to other EU members for help has only political understanding, while real help practically does not arrive. And dozens of ships a day come to Italy. One of them included Lucky Barry from Nigeria. I have always been interested in their names because they seem like stage names, not original Nigerian ones. Although coming from a country rich in oil, the life of many ordinary people is no different from the poorest African countries. He was processed and sent back to his country soon after arriving. However, Lucky took advantage of the law because his human rights were violated, and thanks to the final verdict, he returned to Italy on a regular plane.

I don’t know how authentic everything is because we had a short conversation in the oldest pizzeria in Naples, Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba (established in 1738), where he works as a waiter. Like the others, this portrait should have been accompanied by a photograph. However, our cell phones were stolen in Naples, so I’m asking Lucky to send me a photo when he reads it.

Until then, he has all my support, first for the courage to come to Europe, then for the knowledge to fight for his rights, then for the possibility to work in the oldest pizzeria in the world, and finally for the desire to be something more. He is already better than the average Italian because, in addition to Italian, he speaks English and fluent Nigerian.

Italija je verovatno najizloženija EU zemlja migrantima. Možda i vise nego Grčka, jer većina ljudi želi da stigne u neku od bogatijih EU članica. Verovatno zbog toga veliki broj imigranata ostaje u Italiji i pokušava da se tu snađe. Vapaj Italije ostalim EU članicama za pomoć ima samo političko razumevanje, dok prava pomoć praktično ne stiže.  A u Italiju stižu desetine brodova na dan. U jednom od njih je bio i Lucky Berry iz Nigerije. Oduvek su mi bila interesantna njihova imena, jer mi izgledaju kao umetnička, a ne originalna nigerijska imena. Iako dolazi iz zemlje bogate naftom život mnogih običnih ljudi se ne razlikuje od najsiromašnijih afričkih država. Vrlo brzo po dolasku je procesuiran i vraćen u svoju zemlju. Međutim, Laki je iskoristio zakon jer su prekršena njegova ljudska prava i zahvaljujući pravosnažnoj presudi se vratio u Italiju regularnim avionom.

Ne znam koliko je sve tacno jer mi je Laki u kratkom razgovoru koji smo vodili u najstarijoj piceriji u Napulju „Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba“ (osnovana 1738) u kojoj radi kao kelner, rekao i da pokušava da radi kao komičar.  Za sada skromni YouTube filmčići mogu da se pogledaju na kanalu „One love entertainment“ https://youtube.com/@oneloveentertainment9822 

Ovaj portret kao i ostale trebalo je prati fotografija. Međutim, mobilni su nam ukrali u Napulju, pa molim Lakija da kad pročita da mi pošalje fotografiju po želji.

Do tada ima svu moju podršku, prvo za hrabrost da dođe u Evropu, zatim znanje da se izbori za svoja prava, pa  za snalažljivost da radi u najstarijoj piceriji na svetu i konačno za zelju da bude nešto vise. Već sada je bolji od prosečnog Italijana, jer pored Italijanskog, govori Engleski i naravnao Nigerijski.
