Kelner u kampu na Velikoj plaži,gde smo proveli sedam dana. Učinio je sve da osećamo ugodno i lepo. Poreklom iz okoline Gnjilana. Radi leti od 2009. u Ulcinju, a preko godine u inostranstvu gde nađe posao. Dva brata žive u inostranstvu. Majka mu je doktorka. Stariji je od moje ćerke godinu dana. I to mi pomaže da se setim kraja osamdesetih i ljudi koji su tada rođeni i koji nisu imali prilike da žive u uređenoj zemlji, da shvate šta znači normalna država, koja ima svoje institucije i gde ne postoji korupcija i stalna mogućnost sukoba. Behar mi je odgovorio na dva pitanja koja su me interesovala. Prvo je zašto je on naučio Srpski iako nije morao da uči u školi, a zašto Srbi sa kojima se druži nemaju želju da nauče Albanski. Kaže da je to način da ima prijatelje i među Srbima i da se bolje razumeju, a da ne zna zašto Srbi ne žele da uče Albanski. Zna da nekolicina govori Albanski tako da ne možeš da primetiš razliku, ali pre svega zbog poslovanja sa Albancima. Inače kaže da su Albanci u okolini Gnjilana uvek bila većina, ali da Srbi koji su živeli tamo nisu otišli, osim onih koji su bili imali državno zaposlenje, pre svega u policiji. Drugo pitanje je vezano za odnose između ljudi dva naroda, gde se komšije ne druže i ne sarađuju, čak se ni njihova deca zajedno ne igraju.  Kaže da je tako u poslednje vreme, ali da su se njihovi stari družili i da je postojalo neko poštovanje. U suštini ispada da se raspadom Jugoslavije sve ubrzalo pa i krhke relacije među ljudima. I umesto da narodne vođe to na neki način spreče, dogodilo se ono u čemu danas živimo, zbog čega bi Srbi u Ulcinju trebalo da se osećaju loše, da Albanci koji su većina budu neljubazni i da na svaki način produbimo jaz među nama. Imam utisak da nam je svima trebao neki Nelson Mendela da spreči mržnju i nasilje. A pošto ga nema onda je dobro da svako od nas pronađe Mendelu u samom sebi i potrudi se da ljudski pričamo i ponašamo se kao Behar i ja, zbog čega možda opet letujem na Velikoj Ulcinjskoj plaži.

Behar answered two questions that occupied me. The first is why he learned Serbian even though he didn’t have to learn it at school and why the Serbs he hangs out with don’t want him to learn Albanian. He says that this is a way for him to have friends among Serbs and to understand each other better, and he doesn’t know why Serbs don’t want to learn Albanian. He knows that a few speak Albanian, so you can’t notice the difference, but above all, because of doing business with Albanians. Otherwise, he says Albanians near Gnjilan were always the majority but that Serbs who lived there did not go to Serbia, except for those who had state employment, primarily in the police. Another issue is related to the relations between people of two nations, where neighbors do not socialize and cooperate, and even their children do not play together. He says it has been like that lately, but their elders used to hang out, and there was some respect. In essence, it turns out that the breakup of Yugoslavia accelerated everything, including fragile relations between people. And to prevent the national leaders in some way, what we are living in today happened, which is why the Serbs in Ulcinj should feel bad, that the Albanians, who are the majority, are unkind and that we deepen the gap between us in every way. I have the impression that we all needed a Nelson Mandela to prevent hatred and violence. And since he’s gone, it’s good that we find Mandela in ourselves and try to talk and behave humanly like Behar and me so that I might return to Grand Ulcinje beach again.
