Veselin Jevrosmović (1965) – još uvek najveći frajer Balkana / still the best guy in the Balkans

21 Jun , 2018

I have met Mr. Jevrosimovic in the nineties when he has created his empire. I remember that he wanted to work something with medical equipment and medicine might reconnect us more than twenty years later. Today, about Vesa, as many people call him probably with wish to be intimate with such a successful man, everything is known or almost everything. However, what surprised me after so many years is not his business success and three thousand employed engineers, but successfully developed high school and faculty of information technologies and the web information portal Telegraf. When I already lost hope that our children are enrolling in schools just to get a degree, and not really to learn something, I’ve seen a large number of Apple computers, designed classrooms and kids who are working. It sounds almost unbelievable that a private school in Serbia chooses pupils because competition is such that those who are not used to learn cannot easily survive. All that Vesa’s world of computers reminds me of some of our great people, who left the legacies. Perhaps this is not equivalent to Miša Anastasijević or Kolarac who, in addition to significantly influencing the education and progress of children, left buildings to the people that are still among the most beautiful in Belgrade today. Generally speaking, the influential Serbs lost that endowment towards their homeland, but on the contrary, they act as tycoons, so a modest clock on the Republic Square (which does not work) not far from the building of the rectorate built by Captain Misha is a real metaphor of the destruction of one nation. And because of that, every honest intention is a vision that may save this nation from complete ruin, because, as one long time ago, a wise man said where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance.
